On 10/22/2014 there will be maintenance with one of our NYC upstream network providers to perform an upgrade. We expect little to no downtime as traffic normally processed by that connection should failover to our other network peer. Our staff will monitor the situation to ensure that this failover occurs seamlessly. The planned upgrades include (but are not limited to):
  • IPv6 across all primary peers
  • Preparation for additional upstream carriers
  • Installation of redundant router
This network upgrade will ensure that our network has additional redundancy in case of failure and will allow for additional transit carriers in the near future. Additionally this will allow us to better prepare for the future as IPv6 will be enabled across both of our direct peers in NYC.

If you experience any prolonged issues or outages, please do not hesitate to contact our support team and it will be investigated as soon as possible.

Network engineers will be performing emergency core router maintenance in the Buffalo, NY datacenter today at 6PM EST. The maintenance is related to a software fault in the operating version of the router software discovered this morning. The fault is critical enough that we have determined the best course of action to maintain stability of the network is to perform the update as soon as possible. This maintenance will require that the core routing infrastructure be rebooted. The downtime is estimated to be less than two minutes, however we have set the maintenance window to five minutes to cover routing table population and BGP convergence. Please direct any questions in a support ticket. We appreciate your patience with this matter. We apologize for the short notice.
